Some time over the last night, I hit ten thousand page views.

Before I went to bed I had 9,940-something, now I have 10,028.

Almost every time I check my DA I've got new messages, telling me that someone has favourited something, almost always my Naruto Wallpaper ([link]) image.

I'm not quite sure where this sudden interest in that piece has come from, or why I'm still racking up pageviews. For the most part I've been dead since the beginning of September, so why it's spiking now, when I'm not doing anything, is baffling.

Has somebody like, featured me or something? All of a sudden lots of people are looking at the same thing, and I have no clue why.

Anyways, now that I've pondered aloud about that puzzling nugget, I'll write a short few paragraphs on what's been going on with me.

Life has been incredibly busy for me lately. And by lately I mean since September. School started back up, and though the first semester wasn't all that difficult in terms of workload, this new semester is certainly looking to keep me busy. Which, in a way, is a good thing. I've been pursuing something since September that has become a very confusing, frustrating, difficult, and at times seemingly-hopeless situation. Maybe the schoolwork will keep my mind off of it. But the schoolwork is also keeping my mind off of writing.

Despite not actually having written anything since the last posted chapter of The Dragon's Treasure (which, by the way, I moved to Scraps because it's unlikely I'll pick it up again), I feel I've grown as a writer. Even though I haven't put it into practice yet, I've learned new techniques and methods that will greatly improve my storytelling.

And best of all, I have a good premise for a new book.

I've stated it before in previous journals, though: I may or may not post it on DeviantART at all. The reason the Kingdom Chronicles died was because I lost sight of my original objective of writing: my own entertainment. I wrote because I enjoyed it, but as I posted the chapters on DA I began to feel like I had an obligation to write for your enjoyment. Writing lost its fun, so I stopped.

So I don't want to make that fatal mistake again. If I do decide to post the chapters of my new book, it won't be until I've finished writing it in its entirety.

But I'm determined to begin writing again, because that's what I enjoy doing, and that's what I think I'm good at.

That, and obfuscating the simple words "I've been really busy" into several long-winded paragraphs.
